Thanks
This week I’ve picked out the word Thanks for you.
This word needs no introduction or explanation, but with frequently-used words, perhaps it’s useful to acknowledge their full meaning.
Thanks (noun)
An expression of gratitude
An informal way of saying Thank you
What comes to mind?
Thanks! We scatter it around haphazardly. We pepper it into our texts and emails. It lets the receiver know that you appreciate them or what they’ve done, forming a part of a transaction between two people.
We send thanks in advance, a genuine sign of gratitude or perhaps a polite plea for compliance.
We even say it when we don’t mean it at all.
Where might this week’s word take you?
What are you grateful for in your life right now? Spend a few minutes pondering the things you truly appreciate and make a list of all that come to mind.
Pick one thing from the list and write it a thank you letter to express your gratitude.
As always, we love to see what you come up with, if you’d like to share. And if you’d like to share it in our weekly Note and Journal, please send it to me.
