A journey into the Sahara

Neil Baker, Jamie Jauncey

Journey into the Sahara | November 19 - 26, 2023

It’s always been part of the essence of Dark Angels that we like to guide people to places they’ve never been before. In that spirit, this November Neil and Jamie will be leading a group of intrepid folks deep into the Sahara Desert.

We’ll meet in Marrakech, head east into the Atlas mountains, and about ten hours later arrive at a stunning desert retreat centre called Cafe Tissardmine

This incredible little venue – created and run by an indomitable woman called Karen – is in an oasis on the edge of Erg Chebbi, an enormous sand dune in the remote Sahara.

Our plan is to write together, watch sunsets and stars, walk among dunes, ride camels (optional) and sleep in adobe rooms with private bathrooms. We also hope to spend a night out camping.

So, expect all the usual Dark Angels magic, with a little extra sand in your sandwiches.

If you want to come with us, all you need to do is get to Marrakech on November 19th, in time to set off early the next day. We’ll get back to the city on the 25th, so we can all fly home on the 26th.

Many of the people who’ve booked already are planning to stay in Marrakech a little longer, to explore the city.

The pricing options

£1,650 for limited early bird places, and £1,950 when they have all gone.

This includes a seat on our minibus from Marrakech to the venue, and back. All your meals at the venue are included too.

Hotel accommodation in Marrakech on the 19th and the 25th is not included in the price.
